Sharks are older than trees and Saturn's rings
Fossilized shark scales date back roughly 450 million years, meaning primitive sharks patrolled oceans long before the earliest trees took root on land around 385 million years ago. Sharks have survived five mass extinction events, predating trees, dinosaurs, and even Saturn's iconic rings, which formed within the last few hundred million years.
